Please note this workshop is for our Goodwood Studio, if you are looking for workshops at our Nairne Private Studio, click here.

In this workshop, you'll be taken through a step by step demonstration on how to make your wildest ceramic dreams (within reason of course) using 3 different hand building staple techniques. This workshop allows you the freedom to choose your own projects rather than our more specialised workshops where you learn how to build a specific piece. We'll take you through the basic skills needed and teach you the pinch pot, coil building and slab building techniques.

Guests generally make 4-6 pieces throughout these workshops depending on what you're wanting to make!

Ps. You are absolutely creative enough to do this workshop, don't listen to that silly voice in your head. This workshop is suitable to very first timers and those who have a bit of experience, and we'll support you along the way to make sure you finish the workshop with something you're happy with.

The workshop ticket prices include:

  • the clay and tools you'll need to create a series of ceramic pieces.
  • a demonstration of the 3 main hand building techniques and hands on help as you create your wonderful creations.
  • access to underglazes, stamps and cutters to decorate your pieces with fun and unique patterns (you don't have to, we just like to give you options)
  • firing and glazing of your pieces, your pieces will be glazed in our signature cream glaze.

Our morning session includes a grazing platter of pastries, croissants and fresh fruit as well as beverages and tea or coffee throughout the workshop.

Our afternoon session includes and cheese and charcuterie grazing board, beverages and a cup of tea or coffee throughout the workshop

After the workshop, we keep your pieces at studio to be bisque and glaze fired. Once they've completed both firings, we'll email to let you know they're ready for collection from our Goodwood based studio or Hills studio by appointment. Don't live locally? We can ship them back to you!

Please keep in mind that ceramics is a slow process, especially when being created in a sustainable way, pieces take a minimum of 5-6 weeks to complete the firing process.

Location: Shop 6 89c Goodwood Road, Goodwood

Please contact us if you have any dietary requirements or accessibility needs prior to the workshop.
